Data Architect

Position Description
This position is located in Atlanta, GA. 

Looking for an experienced Data Architect to join our growing team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with the project manager and business analyst during requirements and design sessions to analyze feasibility
  • Work with internal architecture team to determine appropriate technical platform
  • Design logical and physical analytical database layer in either Netezza or Oracle
  • Develop source to target mappings
  • Implement solution

Qualifications:

  • Experience working on large projects as a lead data architect
  • Familiarity with web analytics is a plus
  • Familiarity with Netezza and Oracle databases
  • Familiarity with Informatica and MIcrostrategy (or comparable ETL/Reporting tools)
  • Ability to work well with development and client teams

Business Analyst

Position Description
This position is located in Atlanta, GA. 

  • The Sr. Business Analyst is responsible for championing the business within IT and with effectively communicating the needs and current processes to come up with solutions.
  • The Sr. Business Analyst must be able to communicate equally easily with business owners and users and IT professionals.
  • Candidates must have a solid understanding of project management concepts ana techniques and should have the skills to execute the activities necessary to reach the project objectives.
  • The Sr. Business Analyst will serve as organizer, facilitator, analyst, and problem solver.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to promote a team environment are essential, as are outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely and interact directly with business owners IT staff to identify, rationalize and document business requirements; and translate them into functional specifications which detail the approach to address and resolve the business needs.
  • Conduct analysis that identifies current state business process
  • Make process and systems improvement recommendations thatassistthe business in achieving its goals and objectives, leveraging best practices and professional experiences.
  • Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of AutoTrader.com applications, customers and business units.
  • Effectively communicate project status to management and keep business stakeholders informed of project status and all related issues.
  • Manage and control changes in project scope while communicating impact to management and team.
  • Proactively work to identify, communicate and resolve project issues and risks that interfere with project execution or success.
  • Work effectively on multiple assignments, activities or projects.
  • Manage individual work load and assist with defining and prioritizing tasks.
  • Ensure appropriate project documentation is produced.
  • Collaborate closely with and assist application development teams when required to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.
  • Assist project teams in documenting specifications for application functionality, and documenting and executing test plans and test scripts. 
  • Assist other Business Analysts as needed or required.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a business analysis role.
  • 5+ years of experience with relevant software, including: Microsoft Office applications, MS Project, Visio and business process modeling (BPM) applications
  • Demonstrated leadership experience required in an IT setting
  • Formal software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience 
  • Experience in working directly with the client or business sponsors

Quality Assurance Analyst with ETL Validation Experience

Position Description
This position is located in Atlanta, GA. 

Looking for an experienced QA Analyst with ETL validation experience to join our growing team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot unintended results and error log to investigate cause of unintended results.
  • Report defects and escalate issues as needed.
  • Regularly report overall project status, including test case execution statistics, defect status, milestone achievement, and satisfaction of quality metrics.
  • Contribute to the project success in a team environment while simultaneously completing individual tasks and goals.
  • Assist in the management and documentation of the QA lab environment.
  • Share knowledge by effectively documenting work.
  • Maintain expert level of knowledge in primary application and all first level integration points.
  • Expert at troubleshooting and solving problems.
  • Knowledgeable in various SDLC methodologies including waterfall,agile and iterative approaches.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years QA experience focusing on software verification and back-end data validation.
  • 5+ years experience testing web based applications.
  • 5+ years experience building SQL queries against a relational database.
  • 3+ years experience testing in UNIX environment.
  • Experience developing and executing test cases against business intelligence requirements.
  • Experience with a test case management, defect tracking tool such as Quality Center.
  • Experience with business support software applications such as MS Office (Word, Powerpoint,Excel, Project and Visio).
  • Strong knowledge of various QA methodologies.
  • Experience with requirements traceability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience on Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence testing.
  • ETL/Source to target testing.
  • Strong back-end data validation (SQL) on Oracle environment.
  • Knowledge of Microstrategy Report Testing.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in an information technology related field or equivalent work experience.

Microstrategy Developer

Position Description
This position is located in Atlanta, GA. 

Looking for an experienced Microstrategy developer to join our growing team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for project administration, user support, pre and post cycle maintenance tasks, performance tuning, new development work in Microstrategy.
  • Involved in all parts of the development life cycle, from requirements analysis, to design, implementation, testing and release.

Qualifications:

  • Worked closely with the team involving Microstrategy Upgrade (Desktop, Web, Narrowcast and Enterprise Manager) from 8.1.1 to 9.0 version.
  • Generated and implemented MicroStrategy Schema objects and Application  objects by creating facts, attributes, hierarchies, reports, filters, metrics and templates using MicroStrategy Desktop and Architect.
  • Created Attributes, Facts, Advanced qualification Filters, Custom groups, Prompts, Hierarchies, compound metrics, filters, object prompts, custom expression filters and object prompts according to the business needs.
  • Involved in creating roll up changes for the Profit Center Hierarchy using Profit Center attributes and creating alternative roll up hierarchy.

    Microsoft Business Intelligence Architect / Developer

    Position Description
    Spartan Technologies is looking for professionals in Microsoft Business Intelligence who have a proven track record of success, aptitude, and leadership. The position requires a broad range of skills and the ability to step in to different roles depending on the size and scope of an engagement. The qualified candidate would have proven experience developing successful Microsoft-based Business Intelligence solutions.

     Required
    • 2 – 5 years experience developing Business Intelligence solutions with the Microsoft BI stack (Relational Database, Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Integration Services, PerformancePoint)
    • Demonstrated understanding of multi-dimensional database design and architecture
    • Demonstrated ability to develop business requirements and translate them into a dimensional model
    • Demonstrated ability to develop front-end reporting and analytical solutions that meet the business needs
    • Experience working through a full System Development Life Cycle BI project

    Position Description
    Spartan Technologies is a business and technology consulting firm - team of professionals specializes in Architecting Business Solutions.  Our expertise spans the business initiative lifecycle from opportunity identification to problem description to solution architecture, solution delivery and evaluation of KPI’s. 
    We focus on deriving maximum return on COTS software investments including Business Intelligence, CRM, and EAI. We are currently looking for a strong resource in Microstrategy with the following skillset:

    • Provide billable consulting support to achieve account objectives and production success. Services may include: product installation and implementation, enhancement, integration, or audit to meet customer business requirements

    Job Requirements
    • Bachelors or equivalent degree in a business, technical or related field is required
    • At least 5-7 years Consulting or IT Consulting Experience 
    • Understanding of core Business Intelligence (BI)/data warehousing technology: RDBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2 and Teradata, Web, Client/ Server, and OLAP
    • Business Intelligence development experience and programming experience (SQL, Visual Basic, C, C++); Web/Internet experience (JAVA, HTML, ASP, XML, XSL, JavaScript)

    Business Objects Architect

    Position Description
    The Business Objects Architect is responsible for the design and architecture of the optimal technical solution required to support data access including defining the hardware platform and selecting the correct components of the data access tool required to meet the business requirements.  The BO Architect is responsible for establishing standards for various types of data access and ensuring that these standards are followed.

     Required
    • 5+ years experience working with Business Objects, including Business Objects Suite XI R2 or higher
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and developing analytical solutions
    • Experience with technology assessment and selection of front-end analysis software
    • Experience selecting hardware for deployment of enterprise-caliber software
    • Experience designing data models to support analytical data access
    • Experience designing the logical architecture for data access solutions and establishing standards for those solutions
    • Experience designing and implementing complex security in Business Objects and underlying data layers
    • Experience gathering requirements from end users and translating those requirements into functional and technical specifications
    • Experience leading executive teams through development of key performance indicators and translating those into Xcelsius dashboards
    • Experience with troubleshooting technical BO deployments and tuning and optimizing systems for performance
    • Strong knowledge of SQL
    • Excellent verbal, written and presentation/facilitation skills
    • Ability and willingness to travel

    Additionally, the Business Objects architect will participate in development and administration and should have experience with the following:
    • Development of Business Objects reports and queries using WebIntelligence, DesktopIntelligence and Crystal Reports
    • Installation and setup of Business Objects Server and Desktop products
    • Development of Xcelsius dashboards
    • Design, development and administration of BO Universes
    • Familiarity or experience with Business Objects version XIr2 and XI 3.1

    Cognos Developer

    We are looking to expand our Cognos practice and need top-notch Cognos developers with at least 5+ years experience. Recent experience in Cognos 8 is preferred, and Cognos certification is desired. These positions require a proven track record of developing both reports and dashboards using Framework Manager and Report Studio, as well as cubes using Transformer and Analysis Studio. Good business/data analysis skills are also important. We have a number of clients that use Cognos, so the environments and clients will be varied.
